NEW BUFFALO — New Buffalo students will perform a very musical version of “A Christmas Carol” at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Dec. 14 and 15, and at 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 16.
Shows will take place in the Performing Arts Center at New Buffalo Middle/High School and admission is free.
“This show is unique because it’s all music — there’s hardly any dialog in it,” said director Christina Baumann.
Playing the ghosts that show Scrooge (portrayed by Marjolane DeSimone) the error of his ways are Leah Vinson, Libby Price and Lucy Johnson.
Also in the cast are Jack Lantz as Tiny Tim and Joe Turcotte as Marley.
Chris Sokol is in charge of music direction and Jennifer Fiero is leading choreography.
“Between the (orchestra) pit the cast and the crew we’ll have about 50 kids involved in the show,” said Baumann, adding that students in the sixth through 12th grades are involved — about an equal number from the middle and high school.
“We started working on it the second week of school,” she said.
