Dear RV Mustang Country,

On behalf of the Jerry Schaffer family, we would like to express our gratitude to everyone who helped us celebrate his life last summer.

First, to our church family at Sawyer Trinity Lutheran. Despite the challenges of hosting an indoor church service in the middle of a pandemic, we were incredibly blessed and fortunate to be able to conduct a traditional funeral service with friends, family, and fellow congregants on the same grounds that Jerry was baptized. This was especially meaningful to our mom and Jerry’s wife, Peggy.

Secondly, to everyone at the River Valley School District. Thank you very much for hosting the post-funeral reception in the Jerry Schaffer Gymnasium. To be able to celebrate his life in the space that bears his name and where we all have countless great memories is something we will all cherish forever! The hospitality and servant leadership provided by everyone we worked with went above and beyond in every way.

And last but not least, to everyone who took the time to join us at the celebration of Jerry’s life and/or who have offered your prayers and condolences over the last couple years. It has been humbling and incredibly meaningful to have so many people take the time to share memories and honor his life with us.

Sincerely,

The entire Jerry & Peggy Schaffer family
