Dear Village of Three Oaks Voters, I’d like to take this opportunity to thank you for your enthusiasm and engagement throughout the campaign for Three Oaks Village Council President, and of course, for your support last Tuesday.

I want to congratulate Dave Grosse on his win, and wish him much success moving forward. Of course I’m disappointed that I lost the race. But overall, I’m energized and looking to the future—and it’s clear to me that you are too. Voter turnout was up 32% over 2016, and more than double what it was in 2014. That’s a sign of an inspired, empowered electorate.

I’d like to challenge you to keep that level of engagement high. Keep coming to council meetings. Be educated about our village systems, and how they are running. Talk to the people who represent you. Be a part of the process. Make your voice heard. This is how we can ensure we are well positioned to face challenges in the future.

I’m proud of what we accomplished during this campaign. Our village is better informed than it was before. I am confident that going forward, all of us—residents, business owners and village leaders alike—can work together to make Three Oaks a better place to live, work and play.
