Water’s Edge United Methodist Church and Blessings in a Backpack would like to thank Barbara and Conrad Rieckhoff, the Sunset Shores Homeowner’s Association and members of the community for their kindness, generosity and continued support of Blessings in a Backpack in New Buffalo.

The Sunset Shores Homeowner’s Association held a very successful food drive on April 15th and provided over 1,000 food items for Blessings in a Backpack.

Blessings in a Backpack is a results oriented program designed to feed elementary school children whose families qualify for the federal free and reduced meal program, and may not have enough food to eat on the weekends.

Blessings in a Backpack has been sending food home for the weekends with New Buffalo Elementary School children for 12 years. This has been made possible through donations from the community, and the very dedicated volunteers who put in many hours helping with this ministry each year.

We greatly appreciate the generosity and support of the Sunset Shores Homeowner’s Association, the community and the many volunteers.
