BENTON TOWNSHIP — Some Lake Michigan Catholic shots went high and some went wide. Others were saved by Bridgman goalkeeper Emma Boughner, including a penalty kick, or blocked by tenacious Bee defenders. One apparent goal was disallowed by an offside call.

NEW BUFFALO — Bridgman won a season-opening BCS jamboree on April 15 at Lake Michigan Hills (hosted by Lake Michigan Catholic) and did it again on April 23 at Pine View Golf Club (hosted by Howardsville Christian).

NILES — The New Buffalo High School boys basketball team rallied from a 12-point fourth-quarter deficit to challenge Howardsville Christian down the stretch of a March 30 Division 4 regional semifinal game, but the Eagles held on to prevail 53-49.

THREE OAKS — The River Valley High School boys basketball team rallied from an early 15-4 deficit against Countryside Academy to hold the lead as late as midway through the fourth quarter before the Cougars finished strong to win a March 25 Division 4 district semifinal game 73-68.
