BRIDGMAN — The Bridgman High School soccer team bounced back from a Sept. 7 loss to Fennville by besting Berrien Springs the next day.

Fennville topped the Bees 5-1 on Sept. 7 as Juan Porrez (two times), Armando Sanchez, Angel Villalobos and Emanuel Guzman scored goals.

Sam Fenech accounted for Bridgman’s goal.

The Bees out-scored the Shamrocks 6-4 on Sept. 8.

Ethan Williams scored three times for the Bridgman, Aiden Ackerman tallied two goals and Tim Pham also found the net.

Assists were credited to Sam Fenech, Ethan Stine and Ethan DeVries.

Josiah Pittman scored three of the Shamrocks’ goals, with Kevin Silva also scoring.

The Bees (4-2-0) out-shot Berrien Springs 15-9 and Bridgman goalkeeper Tim Reppart had five saves.

New Buffalo 2, Brandywine 2

NEW BUFFALO — The host Bison rallied to forge a tie with the visiting Bobcats on Monday, Sept. 12.

Giovanni Sanchez tallied both New Buffalo goals (assisted by Jackson Neubauer and Elliott Bourne). NB’s second goal tied things up with just two minutes left in the match.

Duane Thompson and Robert Hartz scored for Brandywine.

New Buffalo goalkeeper John Riley finished with 18 saves.

The Bison were coming off a scoreless tie with Buchanan.

Bee Volleyball

BRIDGMAN — The Bridgman High School varsity volleyball team won matches against Kalamazoo Hackett (by 25-4, 25-10) and Lawton (25-8, 25-12) during a Sept. 8 SAC Double Dual.

Statistical leaders for the Bees included: Takiya Cornelius (14 kills, 9 digs); Peyton Oman (14 digs and 9 ace serves); Bella Gearhart (24 assists and 4 aces); Lily Barker (5 blocks); Kylie Ott (11 digs); Melanie Warren (6 digs).

Bridgman won its SAC opener on Sept. 12, sweeping Fennville by 25-7, 25-15, 25-4 tallies.

Statistical leaders included: Cornelius (13 kills, 6 digs); Tatyanna Hill (6 kills, 4 digs); Gearhart (27 assists, 5 digs); Oman (14 digs and 8 aces); Barker (3 kills and 2 blocks).
