NEW BUFFALO — The Harbor Country Heritage high school wrestling team hosted a tri-meet which included Lawrence and Benton Harbor on March 3.

Winning for the River Valley-New Buffalo co-op squad in a contested 130-pound match against Lawrence’s Gabby Phillips was Jack Lantz.

Although he won by forfeit against both Tigers’ squads (the mascot of both Benton Harbor and Lawrence) in the 135-pound weight class, Harbor Country Heritage senior Andrew Forker prevailed 8-3 in an exhibition match against Lawrence 140-pounder Jakob Edson.

Also wrestling for Harbor Country Heritage were: Shay Berk (125 pounds); Isaac Preece (140); Braden Huffer (152); and Reece Byers (160).

With many points scored via forfeits, Lawrence topped Harbor Country Heritage 52-12 and got past Benton Harbor 42-36. Benton Harbor bested the home team 42-24.
